Unemployment Appeal Telephone Hearing Attorney Appearance

Not sure what to say during your appeal? We offer legal representation at Illinois Department of Employment Security (IDES) Unemployment Telephone Hearings in front of an administrative law judge.  We provide an outline for you to use during the hearing, give you tips on communicating your facts and take over cross examination questions for your employer opponent.   We can also fax and send via certified mail your evidence to IDES and your employer’s representative.

  • Guide you through the appeal filing process (if you haven’t already filed the appeal)
  • Review the Notice of Telephone Hearing
  • Submit an Attorney Appearance for the Telephone Hearing
  • Request Your Personnel Records from the Employer
  • Request Your Unemployment File from the Unemployment Office
  • Identify Evidence That Might Support Your Eligibility for Benefits, and Share It with the Judge/Employer By the Requested Deadline (at least 24 hours before the telephone hearing)
  • Create an Outline for the Telephone Hearing
  • Await the judge’s decision
